A newborn died after an ambulance was reportedly stuck in traffic on the Amritsar-Delhi National Highway (NH) in Khanna due to an unrestricted protest by the Punjab Theka Mulazam Union. Authorities, on the other hand, disputed that the fatality was caused by traffic congestion, claiming that the ambulance had been left behind by demonstrators. After a sudden sickness, Soni and his wife Kajar, who live in Khanna’s Mohampur Village, said they were taking an ambulance to the hospital. The truck, however, got stuck in a traffic jam because demonstrators had barricaded the freeway. Despite protesters’ repeated demands, they said they were not allowed to drive an ambulance and spent a lot of time. Her infant had already died by that time.
