According to authorities, the prime suspect in the case is an 18-year-old lady called Shweta Singh, who was detained by Mumbai police on Tuesday in connection with the Uttarakhand Bulli Bai case. In a press conference, Uttarakhand’s DGP, Ashok Kumar, claimed Shweta is from Rudrapur, Uttarakhand, and comes from a poor family. “She appears to have engaged in such an activity for monetary gain,” she stated. Shweta is a Uttarakhand grade 10 graduate. In the last several years, she has lost both of her parents. In 2011, her mother died of cancer and her father died of Covid. She was studying engineering at the time. Her family earns around 13,000 rupees per month, and she has two sisters. They receive 3,000 rupees from the Uttarakhand State Government’s Vatsalya Yojana, a Covid orphan program. Her father worked in the manufacturing sector and earned 10,000 rupees each month for his family.
