On Thursday, the junior world champion of shooting died in an odd accident after inadvertently shooting himself while trekking with a companion. Christian Ghilli, 19, is an Italian junior clay pigeon shooting world champion who finished third in the World Cup in Peru and won gold in the European Championship. In this sport, Ghilli only became a world champion in October. Ghilli, on the other hand, is claimed to have shot his stomach while trekking with a buddy and died later in the hospital. Gili and his companions were hiking at Montecatini Val di Cecina in Pisa, Italy, at the time of the disaster. His rifle inadvertently shot into his stomach when he was scooping up some old cartridges, according to reports. Ghilli was brought to a local hospital where he was promptly operated on to stem internal bleeding after his companion called for aid. Unfortunately, he passed away on Thursday evening after the doctor was unable to stop the bleeding.
